Yesterday (21st October) was the Medau Annual Reunion and AGM.
It was a lovely day meeting up and catching up with friends from across the country. Nothing quite matches the feeling of reconnecting with people you have not danced with for many months. It is lovely to move about the room, throw balls, manipulate hoops, run and waltz across a vast space with people who share the same delights and creativity of movement. So, what are these extraordinary fun things? Bouncing a ball so hard it goes above your head and you have to stretch to catch it. Feeling a ball lift from your hand and the satisfaction of it returning, gently, back into the palm of your hand. Feeling your feet respond to the music, encouraging and teasing you to progress from a walk into a skip into a trot and then into a run! Working by yourself then turning around and connecting, in the blink of an eye, with a partner, both of you combining a series of movements you have just learnt. The personal thrill of performing to an audience. Being part of a team and seeing the hard work of hours of rehearsal come together in a 4 minute performance. A great day was had by all and we are all looking forward to the next time we all get together. Comments are closed.
