Exercise for the older person or those with special considerations need not be slow or prescriptive and Tracy's class is best described as a keep fit class for those who 'do not want to jump up and down' or can not longer get down on the floor.

What makes this class different?
With exercises for your posture, shoulders, hands as well as the hips, knees and feet and all the bits in between, you can dip in and out of the work, relax or ‘go for it’.
A class where you are made welcome with a smile and not defined by your conditions, all to music you can sing along to.

Monday and Tuesday classes are perfect for those who, because of medical conditions
find mainstream classes 'not quite right'.
It is a class 'with a chair' not 'on a chair'.

NO MEMBERSHIP OR JOINING FEES. PAY AS YOU GO

Arthritis, cancer, knee and hips, shoulders, bad backs, heart problems, weary bones and aching muscles are welcome!
This isn't a class for those who can't - it is a class for those who want to!

The term 'gentle exercise' can be misleading, it is not a slow class sitting in a chair but one which will challenge your brain and body.

The class is not a 'slow' and 'gentle' seated exercise class nor is it a slowed down mainstream class, but it is an age appropriate class for the older adult which accommodates arthritic joints, bad knees and hips, cancer, dementia, heart conditions, stroke, as well as conditions such as MS and Parkinson's.

Working to a variety of music and tempos Tracy's Monday and Tuesday classes are suitable for those who are more active but looking for an exercise class that will accommodate their aches and pains. It will challenge your balance and co-ordination and leave you feeling uplifted as well as providing a much needed social experience.

Tracy qualified with EXTEND Exercise Training in 1999.  She has 2 community classes and has taught in residential homes and wardened accommodation. If mobility is something you are worrying about then Tracy qualified with Para Dance UK in December 2019. Her Monday class is mobility aid friendly and both Monday and Tuesday classes address falls awareness and balance.

Movement and dance plays a disproportionate role in helping people aged 65+ be physically active.

Getting out of the house and making new friends is just as important as the exercise and Tracy's class is the place to go for both!

For a class that:
  • Will mobilise the main joints, within your own pain free range of movement.
  • Works to music that will encourage a safe cardiac workout.
  • 'Ticks the boxes' for balance and co-ordination.
  • Will include some of the exercises found on most physiotherapists exercise sheets.
  • Feels more like a traditional keep fit class than a class for the older person.
  • Is safe post or pre-operation.
  • Will help with rehab as well as maintain fitness.
.....and it is fun, enjoyable and social!
