10/7/2020 It is all so complicated.Hurray- we can go back to class - or can we?
The announcements and guidance Government announced that indoor gyms and pools can re-open to the public on 25 July (click here) and click here for the official accompanying guidance. Performing Arts given green light to resume outdoors on July 11- click here and then here here for the Guidance for people who work in performing arts, including arts organisations, venue operators and participants. One area of concern is that 'all venues should ensure that steps are taken to avoid people needing to unduly raise their voices to each other. This includes - but is not limited to - refraining from playing music or broadcasts that may encourage shouting, including if played at a volume that makes normal conversation difficult. This is because of the potential for increased risk of transmission - particularly from aerosol and droplet transmission' But we can wear a mask? The World Health Organisation released guidance on June 16, 2020, that people should not wear face masks while exercising because it could reduce the ability to breathe comfortably, noting that the most important factor in preventing disease spread is distancing yourself from others. So....when we get back will depend upon all manner of things from ventilation, social distancing and cleaning the light switches, door handles, chairs..... .......watch this space!
