Saturday 10th October
This page will be updated as and when there is anything to announce, but there are a few things we need to think about:
  • How will you get to class?  Walk, bus or drive?
  • Social distancing means that we can not linger for a chat and a 'catch up' so please think about getting to class 'on time' rather than very early.
  • Groups of 6. Yes, we can have a class of more than 6, but we must adhere to social distancing and not mingle.
  • There will be the set number of chairs available depending on the  maximum occupancy of the room. One chair per person.
  • Come ready to exercise. There are no changing facilities and please make sure you have the minimum of 'stuff' with you- and soft soled shoes.
  • Toilets. Yes- the toilets will be open but please think of them as 'public toilets'. Bring some dettol wipes with you for your own peace of mind and personal hygiene.
  • Face coverings. You will need a face covering on the bus or in a shop, but you do not need a wear a mask to exercise. The World Health Organisation released guidance on June 16, 2020, saying that people shouldn't wear face masks while exercising  because it could reduce the ability to breathe comfortably, noting that the most important factor in preventing disease spread is distancing yourself from others.
  • Payment: correct money only please.
  • Apparatus: I will use each set of apparatus once a week and put them away until the next week. I will have wipes/spray for you to wipe down the piece of apparatus you are using.
  • Bean bags: Please bring a large sock so that you can pop the bean bag inside it.
  • Gloves? If you want to wear gloves then please use cotton gloves rather than latex as they are gentler on the hands and someone may have an allergy to latex gloves and there is the advantage that you can wash them for the following week.
  • Checking in. If you have a phone that allows you to check in with the QR code then please do, but I shall continue taking a weekly register for Track and Trace.

Recovering form COVID 19 and need some reassurance on exercise?
The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) has launched a short film to guide Covid-19 patients on the road to recovery.
Getting adequate rest is vital for people recovering from Covid-19, but too much rest can slow recovery down, weaken muscles and make injuries more likely.

Face covering exemption card?
You DO NOT  need a card for class, but it might be useful when shopping or out and about.

A hidden disability is a disability that may not be immediately obvious.

Hidden disabilities don't have physical signs and include learning difficulties, mental health as well as mobility, speech, visual or hearing impairments. They can also include asthma, COPD, and other lung conditions as well as chronic illnesses such as renal failure, diabetes, and sleep disorders when those diseases significantly impact day-to
-day life.

The Hidden Disabilities face-covering exempt card indicates that the wearer has a hidden disability and has a reasonable excuse for not wearing a face covering.

If you have a hidden disability you can apply for a
Face Covering exemption card.
